Events are being cancelled in unprecedented volume, and layoffs are an unfortunate side effect ramping up globally, including here in Boston.IATSE Local 11 wants you to know that the health and safety of you and your PSAV colleagues is top of mind for us. As such, we encourage you apply for unemployment benefits with the State of Massachusetts as soon possible. (click here for a how-to guide)
Please let us now if you have any questions or issues with filling a claim. We are connected to the folks at the DUI that can help.
Filing a claim will ensure you retain a steady income as the industry remains at pause. It is unclear what additional funds will be allocated for devastated industries, but for now this is a critical option for stagehands, technicians, and all other venue operators.
